Origami workshop

Create your own shadow with paper and lights. Mihiro Burman, bookbinder and paper designer, will be leading a workshop at Fiberspace. The workshop is inspired by Japanese origami techniques and the Japanese author Junichiro Tanizaki´s book “In Praise of Shadows” which is written about aesthetics in the dark.

During the workshop, we will fold and cut paper to create own 3D shape with the paper, then experiment to create own shadow with light through the paper form. We’ll just use the simplest materials and tools, a few sheets of paper scissors or a knife and our own hands and have a creative experience together. Workshop is open to adults. Even, children from 8 years old are welcome, free of charge, with an adult. They must however be pre-registered.

The material and tools will be provided. No previous experience required. The workshop is on the 5th of November 2016 between 13:00-17:00. Price 480kr (including VAT and refreshments).
